My DD is heading home so I'd better make sure the presents bought for Xmas are all wrapped so she can have her Christmas as soon as she has recovered from the jet lag.
Of course inevitably, there will be those presents I squirreled away that will appear later on in the year or even next year!
Her main present of course was money to spend on activities later on during her stay and I know she has done loads and built up a bank of very special memories but these little gifts just have to be done too :)
Have you found any Xmas presents you forgot to give? Did you receive any late Xmas gifts yourself?
I have had that happen. You know, it was like this…”I know there was something else for you.” I would eventually find it, as you said squirreled away.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I will wrap a present for myself and open it pretending surprise. Silly, huh?
Actually I think that's quite a nice idea especially if you were to find it some years later as you'd probably forgotten what you'd wrapped (this did happen once with some pass the parcel gifts for school that had lain undisturbed for about 8 years - when they were finally taken into school it was a true surprise for everyone!!
DeleteFinding your blog on the Challenge Road Trip. It is so beautiful today in North Carolina, I have put the top down on my imaginary car. Celebrating Christmas with early and late presents is something I highly approve of. Also recommend that a person celebrate a birthday for as long as possible. A whole month if you put your mind to it. Little things as well as big if you like. Everyday is a celebration when you come to think of it. Glad I stopped by to find your nicely presented blog. If you are up to it, come and see me. If not writing, I will be in the garden and will hear you arrive.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and your comments. As you say, every day should be a celebration :) I remember visiting your blog to read your A to Z Review - which was very detailed.
