Competition Winner - Yes ME!!!

I was looking through all the lovely comments people had left me yesterday when I scrolled down to one from Guilie Castillo a writer who took part in the A to Z Challenge over at Quiet Laughter

"I'm dropping by to congratulate you: you're one of three winners for the giveaway I ran on my blog throughout the challenge"

 And what have I won I hear you ask?  A copy of Guilie's new book :)  Here's what she wrote:



THE MIRACLE OF SMALL THINGS, a collection of short fiction -- a novel in stories -- set in Curaçao.
Blurb: International tax lawyer Luis Villalobos is lured to the tiny island of Curaçao anticipating a fast track to the cusp of an already enviable career.

The book will be released this summer (2015, Truth Serum Press), so this giveaway is me jumping the gun a bit. ("A bit...") I hope you don't mind waiting :)

I am truly delighted - I do not usually have the winning touch so this is a real bolt out of the blue :)
Now of course I am wondering did anyone else win anything over the course of the A to Z Challenge or as a teaching prize (as I know lots of very generous teachers also have competitions and rafflecopters)? I'd love to know!

    Well done. It's always nice to get a prize or a gift.

    In the last couple of weeks I've won two bottles of wine and some pens, though not through blogs. I'm most pleased about the funky pens.

    That book sounds interesting, you'll have to share a review once you've read it. :-)

      I agree that I would prefer funky pens to wine but still how great to have won so much recently - lucky you! If I was to write a review, I'd appreciate you reading a draft copy before I put one on-line - as you are rather an expert when it comes to this :)

    I'm so glad you're pleased! And I'd love to know what you think once you've read it, too! It's so hard to get objective reviews, especially when the book is new -- all those first readers are friends or family or otherwise under some sort of pressure to be kind, to stay positive... Which the ego appreciates, but the craft does not :D So, if you're so inclined, whatever your opinion, whether in public or private, I'd be honored to hear it :) Bottom-line, though, I hope it turns out to be a worthy prize for being brave enough to take a guess on the Papiamentu phrases and expressions I shared... It was so much fun, and I'm so glad you joined in. Looking forward to staying in touch!
