Celebrate #3

This week I am celebrating:

  •  having lost some weight and getting into a pair of trousers that have been that little bit too tight if you know what I mean!!

  • things in my DD's life that hopefully should help her in her London life at uni which she has felt has been a little bit difficult since starting in September.  Fingers crossed anyway.

  • that although my car failed its MOT it was only on a replacement part being needed (unfortunately no one had one so it will have to go back sometime next week) and that I was allowed to drive it home and did not get stopped by the police.  Whilst at the garage though, I also discovered that my tax has not been renewed which is a more concerning point as I hadn't received a letter to re-tax and as they changed it to one where you don't get a new tax disc last year I thought I must have put it onto a direct debit payment scheme.  My garage says so many people are finding the same thing and that maybe the DVLA are trying to scam people for the £60 fine!!  I'll find out when I re-tax it after I get my MOT!!  But I am not too happy to say the least!!
Now I'm off to see what others are celebrating.  Let me know how your week has gone. You know I'd love to know :)

  1. Yes I think it is easy to forget the tax now something we all need to be careful of. Glad you are getting the car fixed without it being too costly. I hope uni life is working out for your daughter.

    1. Thank you Suzanne - having looked on the DVLA website I can see you can pay by direct debit and I did think that's what I had set up - I'll have to check it once the car's MOT'd!!

  2. I know exactly what you mean by being able to fit in clothes that were a little tight before. Congrats on weight loss! Good luck to your daughter on working out her London problems and to you for the MOT and tax situation. Have a lovely weekend! :)

  3. Oh, dear. That tax structure sounds complicated. Hope that goes well. LOL. I'm celebrating getting into a pair of jeans too. Holiday eating once again did its things on me. When will I ever learn? I keep asking :) But I'm hopeless with all the goodies family mails to hubby and me.

    1. I am currently NOT buying anything tempting for hubby and me and luckily with both children going off this week I won't have to get anything in for them which will beckon to me from the cupboard!!

  4. Well done on getting into those trousers. There's nothing quite like that sense of satisfaction you get at those moments.

The car thing isn't so good. Mr Click ended up ordering a 'fake' tax disc off of eBay, so he would be reminded of when he needed to renew it. Now we've got our new car, the tax is due when it goes in for its yearly check up, so it's a little easier to remember.
