Currently May

Farley has opened her Currently Linky so I'm joining in.  Why don't you take a peek and see what everyone is up to? Just hit the button below & remember to follow the rules if you want to join in :)

It's pouring with rain and I keep reminding myself it's good for the garden but we've had such a nice sunny April I think I've become a bit spoilt so I really don't want to work around a rainy day on a weekend!

Over here in England, it's a Bank Holiday so we all get Monday off - fantastic!!  A long weekend is lovely.  Some of us were hoping we might be given another day off to celebrate the arrival of our new princess - after all we haven't had one since Princess Anne was born over 60 years ago!!

Due to the pouring rain, I am now thinking how wet am I going to get as we have arranged for today to be the day we plant the grass seed now all of our monster earth moving work has been completed and one side of the garden has returned to being flat (at one point it looked like a mini mountain range and you couldn't see the other side!!)  Part of me is wishing the garden chap will ring up and say he can't make it - but the other part thinks it will be one less job to do and the grass can begin growing a.s.a.p. and we can have that lawn back :)

I am now into counting down the weeks rather than months to my D.D. returning from Australia so obviously I am looking forward to her being back home before she starts to get ready to go off to university.

However, since she hasn't been here her bedroom has been used as a bit of a dumping ground by myself for wool supplies, books, clothes in wardrobes etc etc so I know I'm now going to have to sort all that out else she will not be too happy when she returns!!!

Lastly, I'm really looking forward to be settling full-time into our new home and getting out to enjoy the garden (after the grass seed has grown).  It will be so great to welcome my husband home after a day's work and for us to sit outside sipping a drink and gazing at the flowers :)  Also getting really excited to be doing a one way trip on the canal boat so that means we can go off in one direction and not have to do the return leg of the cruise so every day will be passing through new scenery.  We've never done it this way before so will have to work out how we do a remote hand over but it will all be exciting :)

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend too - leave a comment and I will get back to you :)

  1. Enjoy the rain and your long weekend! Here in New Mexico it is hot and dry (and windy). I was so excited about the news of a princess too! Can you imagine the darling outfits?? My daughter is heading off to college in August and I have a feeling her bedroom will become a storage place for us too!

  3. It doesn't feel like May, does it? I've got my woolly hat and waterproof winter jacket out again! I'm glad I've got Monday off but I'd like to have a little bit of sun to enjoy.

Hope you enjoy your canal boat trip. It sounds like a lot of fun. :-)

    1. I haven't had to resort to the winter gear luckily but a coat definitely and fingers crossed Monday will bring better weather. I am looking forward to my summer holiday aboard the boat - it is such a relaxing way to travel :)
