E is for Entertainment

Everyone excited, eagerly expecting
enjoying entertainment.
The pantomime live in the school hall.

I've worked in several schools where the pantomime came to us.  Looking back, I am amazed we managed to squeeze a whole school into the hall as well as the actors and stage but that's part of the magic - we did!
I'm hoping that my A-Z posts are acting as Entertainment but I'm experiencing exasperation at posting a comment on the A-Z webpage for others to see my daily posts - is anybody else finding difficulties?

Now back to the theme - What is your favourite pantomime memory?  Did you go to the theatre or did the theatre come to your school?  I'd love to know so leave a comment below :)

  1. My memories of pantomimes are going to see them at Department Stores in Sydney with my grandmother at Christmas time. I would have only been quite little...maybe four or five years old.

  2. I've never been to a pantomime. But I like all kind of theatre, and I attend plays every time I can.

I don't have problems with posting the link.

    1. Pantomimes in this country have always been very popular around Christmas time - real family entertainment - lots of audience participation and very colourful :)
Thanks for responding about posting - I think I might have had trouble because I was one of the last to leave a comment?

    1. Lovely to have you over, Hank :) We also had school plays - even Shakespeare!! It certainly is a good way to get theatre to the children.
It looks like it is me having the problem with linking to the A-Z blog so will try something new to sort it.

  5. Went to a govt school in remote W.Africa so no never had any pantomimes visit or put up. But I do love the theatre. Once upon a time used to get to a lot of performances, but now there are less opportunities.

Remember your blog from the previous years as well, it's my fourth year too :)

I had a problem re pasting my link in for D I think, wouldn't let me paste a html or https or something like that, no idea why! Otherwise it's been cool. I started by own A-Z blogroll from the theme reveal day, I am using a combo of that, the A-Z blog comments, and the return commenting to find blogs, so far it is working for me.

    1. That sounds rather sad for the children and you if no-one ever saw any real actors perform - it is so magical to watch children respond to real action - and sometimes have them jump into your lap too when things get scary!!!

    1. Pantomime is OTT theatre really - loud and bawdy - plenty of drama, laughter and lots of shouting out by the audience "He's behind you!!"
