Weight Loss Wednesday

Must confess I feel rather down this week as my scales stay steady.  I sneaked a peak last week to see a one and a half pound loss but unfortunately after another party long weekend it looks like I've regained it all.  Looking on the bright side I haven't put on but still - sad face.

I wish I could say I feel confident I'll have a better week this time but I feel rather lack lustre - even though I got hold of one of the Hairy Bikers' diet cook books (from a charity shop) which had been recommended to me by a lady who has had great success this year - getting the weight off and keeping it off!

They have an on-line weight loss program too now (which you sign up and pay for) but I don't think that's what I need just at the moment but their free weight loss calculator did remind me that if I was able to lose 2lbs per week then it would take me less than 5 months to lose THREE STONE and that means that I would be standing on those scales on the 29th March at my perfect weight.  Maybe this thought will inspire me this week plus trying out some of their recipes?  Tune in next week to see what transpires :)

  1. Having a goal in mind will definitely spur you on chick! I didn't realise the Hairy Bikers had their own diet, I shall certainly be taking a look, especially at the calculator too. Statistics are a great way to keep you on track! It's great to have you back on board with #WeightLossWednesday and it's great to see how you are doing! Hope you are having a great week - you enjoy the parties, sometimes too much gets in the way of life in general, so make sure you enjoy yourself. Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. You can do it lovely! Sim xx

  2. It's frustrating when the scales don't move for a week or two. I'm sure you'll get there in the end though, you just have to stay motivated through the slow spells. :-)

    1. Thanks Click and you are right - all weight loss has its slower spells so maybe THIS week will be the one where I can make a significant loss. Thanks for keeping me motivated :)

    1. Wow Susan that is fantastic! Any advice to share is always welcome here - are you drinking more water, reducing carbs, a new exercise regime?

  4. I've heard of plateaus in weight loss, so maybe that's what is going on. I would be well on my way to losing some weight if I could just stop scarfing down so much sweet stuff. Having a ton of Halloween candy about is not helping. Save me Switch Witch, before I gobble it all up! (A Switch Witch is when kids hand over their candy for a small gift so they won't snack on that junk for the next month.)

    1. Love the idea of a Switch Witch :) Maybe I should swap my snack goodies for some wool? Thanks Tamara for joining in - have a good weekend!

  5. You know, I couldn't take off weight after my last baby-no matter what I did. It got to the point where it was depressing. BUT, after starting to sleep the adequate number of hours each night, and when I quit stressing about it, and when I started doing MUSCLE focused exercises, that's when the scale surprised me. My physical therapist (there might have been a car accident in there somewhere) said that targeted muscle workouts burn the most fat--burns it right off the muscles. I'm sold.

    1. Yes - comfort food and especially custard are certainly what I begin to crave when it starts to get that bit colder!

  7. Oh I'm sorry that the scales don't say the right thing but it could have just been water weight? The hairy bikers have done really well - good on them too.

    1. I think I have to be honest about what I actually ate and if I consume more calories - then exercising more is only going to result in a balance rather than a loss so hopefully if I can reduce the calories and increase the exercise then a good loss should be on the cards :)
