J is for Jigsaws, Jobs & Jackdaws
N.B. I am a little apprehensive about next week as I have tried to set up scheduled posts (as I will probably be unable to have access to the internet) but I thought I had done this for today's and it doesn't seem to have been posted at all at the time I set - so forgive me if no posts appear but be assured I have written and submitted them all K through to P!!
Jigsaws - In schools we have lots of educational jigsaws as well as purely pictorial ones and over the years I have found jigsaws to be a great way to improve children's dexterity, co-operation when working with others, independent learning and resilience. I have made several on different themes which self-correct and allow the child to build success in stages - head for the freebie of the day at the bottom of this post to download one :)
Jobs - Before you get worried I'm not advocating child labour but all children benefit from being given the responsibility to undertake a job in the classroom and some are really good at doing it. Sometimes the children who you think won't be able to do something very well actually surprise you the most :)
Jackdaws - Don't worry this isn't a strange craft you've never heard of I just couldn't let the letter J pass without showing you what those naughty birds have done - trying to build a nest in the chimney pot!!
