Add 9 Valentine

Well I am back again after a bit of a blogging abandonment.  A big thank you to those out there who have made contact and kept me sane but we all know that sometimes life can be a little bit tough at times and something has to give.  However, to show that I am back I thought about what some might find useful with Valentine's Day now on the horizon and have produced the following freebie entitled
Adding 9 Valentine.  The idea is that the children will be taught that the easy way to add 9 to any number is to first add 10 and then count back 1.  As a memory recall aid, the mittens denote the fingers to remind children to add ten first!!  As always, this resource is differentiated so that some learners can cut and stick the numbers into the correct boxes and for others they can write the numbers into the correct boxes.  I have made this a black & white resource as all of us are coping with ink costs I expect and allowing children to add some colour also aids in the enjoyment as well as improves fine motor skills.

Many thanks and please let me know what you think.  All constructive criticism is always welcome!
